Whittier Lofts Apartments

Purchased by Brad Ciavarella and a business partner, the former Whittier Elementary School built in 1935, had solid bones but was in need of a vision. The community was very supportive in seeing a historic structure many of them went to school at be given a new lease on life. With full construction oversight, they revived, restored, and reused as much as possible including windows, doors and millwork, original parquet and terrazzo flooring, and even chalkboards found throughout the school. The building now includes 19 apartments located on the three floors of the building with the existing gym and stage also restored and available for use by the building tenants. The building is now also on the National Register of Historic Places.
